History of Shenyang

Located in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, Shenyang Aerospace University is a polytechnic institute featured by aeronautics and astronautics and primarily focusing on engineering. Since its founding in 1952, SAU was one of the six undergraduate aeronautics institutes subordinate to the former Ministry of Aeronautics and Astronautics of China. Now, it is the only institute jointly supported by the People’s Government of Liaoning Province and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China. Besides, SAU is also one of 18 non-army institutes which cultivate army officer in reserve for air force and urgently-needed aeronautics and astronautics talents for equipment manufacturing industry in Liaoning Province. It is a key institute subordinate to the People’s Government of Liaoning Province.
